Ft. Worth Zoo

Here Charlie looked at the white tiger. Then kids started yelling and he cried. You don't need to see the picture of that.

It was chilly, he had to wear his hood.

Here they look at deer. Justin took the day off and we all went.

Charlie and the mountain goat!

Grandma took him on the carousel. The horse moved up and down but he really liked it.

Charlie and Great-Grandma and Grandpa

Charlie and Grandpa

Here they are in the Rangers' Stadium. We took a tour. Charlie was only a little interested.

Here they are sitting outside. They sat a long time while Charlie played with a leaf.

Tongue

Fixing a car requires concentration.

Trying to pose with Great-Grandma and Grandpa

Wheels

Charlie loves to spin wheels. Or anything else that will spin. I handed him a stuffed animal and he lost interest after tryin to spin it and failing.

Arboretum

My mom, grandma, cousin Heather, Charlie and I went to the Dallas Arboretum.

Mom carried Charlie for a while. He had to see the gingerbread house.

It was a gorgeous day.

This is my favorite!!

Charlie got tired and took a little nap. He thought all the flowers looked alike anyway.

Spit Bubble

Classy

Reading

Charlie is really interested in flipping through hardcover books (like he sees Mom doing!)

I tell him he has to be gentle and not pull

He likes to riffle the pages

He really, really wanted to see the inner pages but the first page kept flipping back, so he laid his leg on it to stop it.

Yes, it is The Wives of Henry VIII!

Laughing

He is ticklish!

Playing with Owen's rope

After I gave up trying to get a picture of Charlie playing tug-of-war with Owen's rope, and put the camera away, he started again.

I swear, he's not really chewing on it.

It's hard to see what he's doing here, but it's wrestling with Owen. When he stops and crawls toward me, he's grunting because that's what he does when he comes to Mom or Dad. It's his way of saying, "I'm coming, but you could save me the trouble by just picking me up."

Ready for his close-up

It is impossible to take a candid of Charlie anymore. Here, he's playing with the shoes. When I try to get a better second shot, he just smiles for me.

Again, I take his picture then try to catch him playing with Owen. I even hide the camera on the couch. No fooling Charlie.

PS. See what his shirt says?

Mountain comes to Mohammed

If you can't reach the back of the zoo, why crawl around? Make it come to you.
