Jamie's Birthday

While Justin's parents were visiting this weekend, we celebrated Jamie's birthday. Such a big boy!



Charlie "helped" Jamie with the wrapping paper.



He even let Jamie play with a few toys he got.

This is the toddler bounce house. The big one lasted much less time.

He had a good time hopping around.

Here is Jamie hunting eggs. Charlie is off somewhere, also hunting. Jamie got an egg in each hand and eventually wedged a third under his chin.

Crazy Hairs

Jamie got up from nap with the Crazy Hairs.



He didn't mind a bit.




Charlie thought it was funny.

Jamie Walks

As you may know, Jamie took his first step on his 9 month birthday, 2 1/2 months ago. So why no Jamie Walks video? The answer is that he only took a few, when prompted, and showed little interest. He loves to hold a hand and walk or push something around the house, but until the last few days he hasn't taken off. All that practice has really paid off, though. This is not the best he can do.
By the way, in the background Charlie is asking if the cookies are "warm enough," meaning: not too hot to eat.

Great Grandpa and the Boys

Blue Bonnets

We went to a field of blue bonnets not far from our house. It was a few acres, all covered with flowers.

Charlie really enjoyed running through it.

Jamie was pretty nervous. It all seemed very weird.

He really didn't want to sit in all this stuff.

He was much happier when Daddy would hold him.

And maybe he could pull his hair just a bit.

Charlie's Cars

Charlie created an elaborate road and his cars got into a traffic jam on it.

They kept falling off and he painstakingly put them back and moved their positions until they stayed.

Finally there was one car that wouldn't fit. He considered his options.

I guess he must have been feeling good about lining things up that morning...

Later, he put his ride-on car up on the playground and climbed on up.

Will he go down the slide or through the tunnel unassisted? No. But he will ride his car up high!

Random

Here is a picture of Charlie putting stickers on Grandpa Jeff. I think you can see Jamie's 8th tooth in this one. These are towers Charlie built and wanted to show his dad. He said, "I think Daddy will be excited. I think Daddy will be amazed."

Water

It was warm enough a week ago for some water table fun. Jamie has on his safari hat.

Charlie washed his truck.

He and Grandpa Jeff washed the cars, including the one Charlie's riding in the picture.

Grandpa Jeff got the high parts :)
