Christmas Mass and Things We Like

We got all dressed up for Christmas Eve Mass. This is, sadly, the best picture

But I thought it would be fun to make a list of things the kids like this year.

Charlie: being right, not smiling in pictures, electronics. observing light bulbs and batteries, his stuffed animals, his baby sister, saying "actually," telling bad news

James: being loud, giving hugs, superheroes, Bear, being warm, slamming his head into his loved ones, building jet planes with Charlie and attacking, books, giving the priest a high five after Mass, being called James because he DOESN'T like the letter i, it's icky

Lucy: pink stuff, not brushing her hair, telling Nora what to do, helping me cook, leaving people hanging when they give her five or shake her hand, Elsa, people doing things exactly the way Lucy thinks they should be done, her Foxy and other animals, watching her dance class video, giving a death stare

Nora: being included by her siblings, Bunny, sleeping in, coloring, the color yellow, not being in twubble, cuddling, Minions, taking care of her babies, telling people things they can't understand

Tessa: dipping her finger in holy water, having a clean diaper, brushing her own teeth, having her hair brushed, talking loudly during the quiet parts of Mass, climbing stairs, yelling "meeee" when she wants to do what everyone else is, pulling books off shelves but not having them read to her, her lion, giving me high fives while nursing, having Charlie push her swing

Another thing James likes is taking pictures, but he hasn't gotten the knack

Charlie likes taking over for other people, so he did it

Lucy

St. Lucy was known for taking rolls to the poor so that's what we had for breakfast this morning. And since Lucy means light we ate by candlelight. Our Lucy is very excited about her name day.

Joy Sunday

It's Gaudete Sunday, so we put up the tree.

Swingset

The kids said what they really wanted for Christmas is a swingset. So their grandparents chipped in for a nice one.

Then Justin and I spent allllll day putting it up.

We ordered pizza. It gets dark early.

But after 12 whole hours, we have a swingset!

We went to the Heard Museum and saw animatronic dinosaurs

Nora is afraid to turn her back, just in case
