Tuesday Morning

They are playing quietly (!) and Jamie has nothing to say (!!) but here's a bit of our morning while Charlie's at church camp. You can see Nora's current thing, which is to lean forward until she's on hands and knees/feet and rock forward to get what she wants. Or roll for it.

Fishing

They had a fishin experience at cabelas today. The fish came running to the hooks because they saw it was catch and release.

Nora at 8 Months

I was looking through old pictures to see what my other babies did at this age, and I was so glad for my notes! I think I will remember, but it all runs together and I don't know what happened at what age. So for you (and future me), here are some things about Nora at 8 1/2 months:

• She still mostly sleeps on her back. She rolls to her tummy in her sleep and it doesn't make her mad anymore, but still doesn't prefer it.
• She doesn't suck any fingers. I thought she would start, but I think she'd have done it by now. She's just content as is.
• She loves food. I give her just about anything we're eating, since she had no trouble with early foods and none of us have any allergies. She eats lots, and about anything, and feeds herself everything. I think her favorite food is blueberries.
• She's not showing any signs of crawling, but she rolls herself all over.
• She still doesn't sit herself up or pull to standing, but she holds herself up when we stand her up. She doesn't push up to hands and knees, but almost every time I sit her up she leans over until she's in that position, or at least hands and knees and feet.
• She loves peek a boo and the jumperoo.
• She's such a happy baby that people comment on it everywhere we go. She hardly fusses at all, about anything.
• She says "mama" and babbles.
• She's not big on listening to books, but she loves to play with them. She doesn't like when we read to her and won't let her instead grab the book.
• She and Lucy sleep and nap in the same room and don't have any problems. They don't even wake each other up when one cries or when I feed Nora in the night.

Eggs

Charlie can make scrambled eggs himself and he is very proud

Jamie says they are extra delicious for the accidental surfeit of cinnamon

While grandma was here, we took the kids to KidMania. The boys were impossible to photograph as they climbed, but the girls were much stiller.
