Pool

We bought a little pool, and set up a net, filter, chlorination, and fence for it. So far the kids are loving it

But we filled up the baby pool too, for nakey babies who don't like so much water

Mud Pots and the Geyser Basin at West Thumb

It was cold this day! 40s and bitter wind. But we walked around West Thumb in Yellowstone and saw the mud pots and geysers.

Sacred Heart

We went on a tiny pilgrimage to the Chapel of the Sacred Heart, which is in the Grand Tetons. They say Mass here but we weren't there at the right time.

More pictures

The boys got binoculars as souvenirs/birthday/spent money and while they mostly looked for license plates in Yellowstone/Grand Tetons (we saw all 50 states! Even Hawaii!) they did look for some animals. We saw a bear, lots of bison, elk, a fox, pronghorn antelope, and mule deer.

This dude was right by the road as

Max likes to eat whole apples.
 Meals on the RV!

Jackson Lake

Here we are at Jackson Lake, in the Grand Tetons.
 Silly picture!
 Real picture.
Another ice cream break. My grandpa Chuck would be proud.
We went on a 2 mile hike here.
This was probably the prettiest place we saw. Just amazing.
The kids got to try skipping rocks. They do love to throw rocks at things, it's a rare pleasure.

Old Faithful

We went to Old Faithful on our first day in Yellowstone.

 It was Charlie's birthday! He's 11!
We had to watch for a while. It's got a +/- 10 estimate.
But it went! Faithfully, you might say.
Tessa needed a ride here. There were no motivating snow piles to spur her on.

Sinks Canyon

We went to Sinks Canyon outside Lander, Wyoming. Apparently this is usually a trickle, but the snow's melting and look at it now!

We walked around and Tessa liked the flowers.
 We climbed around.
Right after this, she tried to get down and her feet wouldn't reach and she had to be rescued.

Casper Mountain

We went for a hike on Casper Mountain in Wyoming. We thought it was 3 miles, but it ended up being more like 4.5. We powered through!

Tessa walked almost the whole trip. She says her favorite part was the snow piles we kept having to scale.
They were hyped about the snow. It was pretty cool to play on snow when it was 70 degrees.

Nebraska

Oh yes, we had matching shirts.

Who knew Nebraska looks like this?? It's very far west.
We went to a museum called Legacy of the Plains about the Oregon Trail and pioneer settlers. The lovely volunteer gave Max a car and this is what he did.
This plastic horse was Lucy's favorite.
 There was fake cow milking.
This is a telegram system where they could practice Morse code. MOM is ---...---

Then we had lunch on a tractor. And our first ice cream break!
Max decided he DOES like ice cream. But he needs you to carefully hold it in place. And by you, he means Grandpa (a new word!).
