Vacation Miscellany
Our last night, Tessa and Lucy were out the longest, the two who loved being in the water the most
Lucy, Nora, Tessa, Max - isn’t there something about the beach that makes you want to run?Outside the interpretive museum they ended up enjoying!
A quick trip to a park
Mini golf! Bernadette mostly enjoyed swinging around the club
Lunch on the trip home. We also had swimming at the hotel both ways! What an adventure.
Nature Walk
We can’t resist a nature walk! This was very cool, and quite different than our flora at home.
Everyone thought it looked like Jurassic park, with the ferns. I didn’t get his picture, but Justin got to do this with us! He came to the museum (unpictured, oops) and to the beach a couple afternoons, but he had to work during the day. He drove us all the way and barely got to enjoy it!
Seaside, OR
I had never been to Oregon and heard good things about Seaside, so I took these kids on the 2.5 hour ride over the big bridge. They loved collecting seashells and sand dollars on the beach.
We went to the little aquarium. It was crowded but the octopi were cool. There were seals and when I got one to catch food in its mouth Helen cheered.
Ocean
This is a lot of ocean pictures, but seeing the kids frolicking in the waves was the best part of the trip. Even on the morning it was cold:
Helen didn’t mind
Most nights, I took these 4 kids back to play in the waves by our rental without the littles. It was cold but they loved it.Once, the water touched Helen’s sandals and she cried. But she loved the sand.
Max played in the water, in his coat
They helped dig a pit
This was our first night, and they were wearing clothes but it didn’t stop them. None of us can stand sand, but it didn’t stop us loving the sea.
