Max’s blanket

My friend Crystal had made five kids' favorite blankets (poor Charlie! I should have known her sooner) and now Max can pull blankets into his mouth, which is his favorite.

I like the crocheted blanket because it would be pretty hard to smother yourself with one

Snapper jamas

We call these her snapper jamas, even though they're buttons. She loves them. Isn't she grown up looking? She's had a fever but seems to mostly feel pretty well - look at that smile!

Max’s hairline

I can tell Max's head has grown a lot lately because he's got a bunch of bald spots where the scalp has grown before the hair!

She was a little sick today but took happily to lying on the couch. She got a new ballerina shirt which comforted her in her affliction.

Nerf war

My aunt Julie happened to be passing through while her brother is visiting! We celebrated with nerf, as one does 

Grandpa visits

Grandpa finally got to meet Max. Max was helpful by taking a nap right before bedtime and so staying up late to meet him when he arrived. He was not the only excited boy.

Mardi Gras

 Perhaps you remember that Mardi Gras, a.k.a. all candy day, is the kids favorite day of the year. They eat up all our leftover candy before Lent begins when we don't eat dessert. 

Tessa is the queen today. The ring was in the FOOD!

 A lot of declarations from the other kids saying that Tessa has decreed something have been happening. She just agrees happily, and now they are watching Magic School Bus and planning Pb&j for lunch.

Charlie (with sister assistants) made a breakfast bar and Max snuck in his 4pm nap

We went to fire safety town again and this time drove jeeps

Even in a tiny town, driving can be tough. Nora was mildly terrified. But they had so much fun!

Max's Day 2 months

Here is a day in Max's life at 2 months old. I picked one where we stayed home because it was easier to document, but a lot of days we leave and there's car/sling sleeping. He was cooperative today and this was all typical behavior! Lots of nursing and 30 min naps, and an early bedtime that generally takes two tries but has needed even longer the last couple nights.

9:30 nurse, listen to A Gold Star for Zog, and poop
9:40 new diaper again, kick on the floor
9:50 help with school, watch the star

10:15 sit and walk around to help with school

10:50 lots of bouncing while we finish spelling
10:55 nurse, laid down awake in crib while Tessa screams nearby
