Jamie Turns Two

We celebrated Jamie's second birthday this weekend.

He wanted to sing Happy Birthday over and over. When he blew on the candle, he said "I blow fire!"

 The hard-to-hide gift was a new trampoline! For those days we have extra energy. You know, every day.

Then he wanted to open all his presents on it.

No signs of giving up thumb-sucking.

Lots of fun all around. Happy birthday, Jamie!

Favorite Things

 I thought I'd get a couple pictures of the kids with their most beloved things. If they were Oprah, this is what they'd give their audience.

While Lucy loves cuddling with her blanket and stuffed fox in bed, they always stay there waiting for nap. During the day, she loves the necklaces Charlie has made. She chews them. If you recall, Jamie used to (and sometimes still does) wear them all over.

Here's Jamie and his Bear. Bear wants to do everything Jamie does. "Bear want come!" "Bear still sleepin'." "Bear hungry." He also has a blanket he loves, but the blanket has fewer feelings than Bear. There's a kitty and a Timmy (another bear) he sleeps with and carts around, but it's Bear and blankie he really loves.

And here's Charlie, who loves his blanket the most. He has Douglas and Sister Puppy (you've seen her being grilled, no doubt) but White Blankie is the one he wants the most. (Don't you love the supermodel pose?)

And here's a new toy they both enjoy, as do their Bear and Blankie friends.

Butterflies

 The underwear-only boys are enjoying the butterflies. We started with caterpillars - very exciting business.

Spring Dress

 Here's Lucy, working on sitting in her pretty spring dress.

I think she's just about the cutest thing ever, all happy.

But now check out her sad face. Isn't she pathetic? Who made her play with the zoo???

Comparison

I know, never compare your kids right? But we have so few gender-neutral outfits that we rarely get to see if Lucy looks like the boys in the same clothes. And what luck! They both wore it.

My opinion stands: the boys look alike. Lucy looks different, although she has the same apple cheeks. Anyone else?

And here's Lucy in her Easter dress. Good thing we got this quick picture before sunrise church, because her diaper exploded all over it during service and there were no more photo ops :)

My friend Lisa took this while she was watching the kids. There's a lot of mutual fascination and Owen wants to lick spitup while Lucy wants to chew on fur.
