Charlie's Birthday, Part II

We made a cake. Chocolate, nutella, raspberries, whipped cream. 

 Mmmm

 He wanted five candles :)

 There were still a few more presents even after the bonanza with the visiting grandparents.

 He got a kids' tablet from Grandpa and Grandma Junkel that looks like fun.

Happy birthday, Charlie! I can't believe it's been 5 years!

If you're wondering about the camera, it's because he wanted to take pictures of his pancakes himself.

As is tradition, he picked all our meals today:

breakfast: blueberry pancakes and bacon

lunch: Five Guys

supper: salmon, chips, and potatoes

Lucy's Baby

Lucy has developed a recent interest in "babies." She wants them wrapped up (I don't know where she got the idea), which she calls "wrappie."

 Jamie only wanted his picture taken. He's not a dolly nurturer.

 Then Lucy needed to wrappie foxy.

 She also likes Lucy to be wrapped.

Firehouse

As part of Plano's summer Suburban Dare, they're giving tours of the fire station.

First, we got hats and heard a story

 It was about a dragon who accidentally sets a house on fire and it was read by a firefighter

 Then we all tried on firefighter gear

 We also got to tour where the firefighters live. The boys were ecstatic.

Swimming Pictures

I got some pictures on our last morning. You can see better what was going on from yesterday's videos, but here are the stills.

Lucy liked just walking around at the edge. She believed she would be supervised and paid no attention that anyone was with her

 Charlie and Grandpa played with water toys

 One of Jamie's favorite activities was spraying the water gun on the stationary jet ski

 pressing the button poured water out onto unsuspecting people below

 These came up and then stopped spraying, so they got to watch for their reappearance

 Finally some interest in splashing :)

 We got to go outside for a few minutes. This was Jamie's other favorite activity: turning the wheel to make the water spray and stop

 It worked well since Lucy loved to feel the water coming out

 Charlie's favorite thing was jumping to Grandpa, so they headed off to his favorite spot

 Jamie also liked going under the "waterfall" if someone carried him

 She kept saying "touch!"

 floating is good too

 What good jumping!

 Jamie got tired and sat next to me on the deck. Briefly.

 And we packed up and went off.
