Jamie's Birthday

Here's what the new 3 year old did on his day, including his choice of three meals: 

had pancakes and bacon for breakfast, with candles to blow out

Charlie wanted his age too

 He blew them out each time he ate a pancake. That's a lot of candles.

We made his birthday cake. He wanted chocolate sheet cake.

No pictures of Chick Fil A for lunch, but he wanted fish and sweet potato fries for supper.

Then he got to blow out candles again.

 Mmm, cake

 Last, there were presents. This was exciting too, although less so than the food

 What has Lucy been doing all day, you wonder? Well, she's entered her Destructo phase and spent the day eating dog food and pulling all the books off the shelf. (Which is allowed, since they're her books and she helped clean up, but really - you'd think there would be a spark of interest in presents.)

Marker

I looked up and saw Lucy, who I swear never had a marker, looking like this:

She didn't let it stop her from picking up the cars, though. Jamie also had pretty blue arms.

Right Now

Here's what's going on around here. Jamie got a singing birthday card and Lucy's dancing to it.

Jamie's showing off the bands (hair ties) he put on his legs.

Now Lucy's harassing me. "Mommmmeeeee! Wa!"

"Cup! Wa! Mommmmmeeee!"

"Wa!"

Charlie is playing with his car carrier and doesn't want to be photographed, but since he's always like that it's starting to seem like we like him less.

Baby

Lucy wanted the baby wrapped in a blankie. I thought my heart would explode from the cuteness.

And then everything went back to normal.

Sandals

It's sandal weather, and everyone is excited. Jamie is very proud of his new blue ones.

Charlie's are from last year, but it's still nice to have toes out!

No one is more pleased than Lucy, who loves shoes. These are a bit big, but she doesn't mind.

Do fashion models bring their fox and blankie?

"Read book read book read book"

Lucy loves to hear this book, Oh No George. As soon as you finish, she demands "read book read book read book," "read puppy" or, once, "read book MORE." Occasionally she will accept a substitution, but her new multi-word phrases make it easy to command us.

Ha! I got Daddy to do it again.

Lucy's Seat

I guess they all like confined spaces, because Lucy loves to sit between the bookshelves. She thinks she's hilarious.

She has fox and blankie to keep her company

Laundry Room

Lacking a playroom and enjoying enclosed spaces, the boys have started playing in the laundry room. Often, the use flashlights in the dark, but today they put on their pjs and pretended to stay at a hotel.

They have all their toys lined up.

Charlie wanted to be sure we all saw the cars in a line. Lucy doesn't like having doors closed on her, so she's hanging with me in the living room, which is much more spacious.

You Should See The Other Guy

Lucy took a spill outside and scraped up her face.

She's forgotten about it and is back to gleefully brushing her teeth.

Sad Baby

Just hanging out with Sad Girl this morning. She needs a little more medicine before she's ready to go.
