I thought my clock was dying but it turns out the time being off has another cause.

Isi learns math

Lucy is teaching Isi math. It is surprising.

By coincidence, the girls all matched a bit today. Isi is in her new outfit from Grandma Junkel!

It is so fun to watch her little brain grow. She reaches for things now and wants them.

The grandparents took everyone for one more night at the lake. Grandpa found it a bit warmer than Iowa.

Swing

The grandparents got a swing, and Tessa and Nora loved to swing.

James obviously preferred to climb the rope

Outside

They swung, slip and slided, had fires, had backyard camping, played croquet probably 10 times a day, did archery, mowed the lawn, played frisbee, went to the park, went on lots of walks, tried to kill a tomato-eating chipmunk, and generally lived outdoors for 2.5 weeks.

Tessa’s birthday

Tessa is 5! She loves her birthday so, so much.

She had fun with presents.

And she had specific cake needs (there had to be a square with a cross, so we remembered Jesus).

We love this girl so much! We finished it by driving home and stopping to see other grandparents (unpictured, of course)

Playtime

Grandma had everyone playing in the water, or standing like a big girl

Fire

Even though it wasn't cool, we enjoyed a fire!

Max had been playing In the sprinkler and took off most of his wet clothes!

S’mores

We had a fire several times and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs and Charlie even made us a dessert in a Dutch oven in the coals .

 

Pop

Like my childhood trips to the Lake, the kids drank lots of strawberry and grape pop. But theirs is stevia sweetened!

Mowing

In Iowa, Max mowed a LOT. And other people played frisbee and rode trikes.

The kids liked to ride with grandma, and somehow i missed a picture of Charlie who actually mowed the whole lawn several times.
