Hair Clip

Lucy likes to wear a hair clip. She demands requests one every morning. Today I found her a bow, and she was entranced. We took pictures so she could see it herself.

Jamie wanted a hair clip too, but his hair was too short. So he he put a used flossing stick in his hair. Classy boy.
Not to be outdone, Charlie found one too. And then Jamie flossed. Super classy.

One more of the real bow.

We Three Kings

Here you can see that we went to Burger King, they also got suckers, and we'd taken a shower before supper and not gotten re-dressed.

King Jamie

King Charlie. They can only get into the palace when they're wearing their crowns. Royalty status ceases when they're removed.

And King Lucy. You didn't think she'd be anything but what her brothers are, did you? "I King!"

Stringing Cereal

We got out the Fruit Loops and spaghetti noodles at school this morning for some color/hand-eye-coordination/pattern fun.

Lucy loves small motor skills.

Charlie has mastered getting cereal on spaghetti and is working on patterns. And ignoring patterns and pretending to feed a crocodile.
Jamie entertained himself a great deal by getting out more and more supplies.
When we get done, I let them eat a few. But I bought these a LONG LONG time ago for this activity and they're still good this time around. Preservatives at work!

Dump Truck

There is some demand for this. Lucy's pronunciation is suspect and Miss Lisa captured it.

Sentence

I just had to record Lucy's longest sentence to date, which I think is great for a 22 month old:

"I need help with babies back to bed."

You always know what she wants. She makes sure.

Changing Diapers

I never tried to convince my girl she should be the little mommy. The boys had access to dolls (they were mine) and weren't interested. Lucy loves to cuddle the dolls, but mostly just the same as any stuffed animal, and she sure loves trucks too. Lately, though, she's been treating her "babies" more like people and today put it over the edge.

Lucy brought out the changing pad and wipes, and I was confused because no one wears a diaper. But it turns out her baby needed "changay diaper."

Of course she can't to this herself, so I had to "helmp"
Her baby doesn't mind being changed on her face. Lucy needed to see her bottom.
One down, now another needs changed.
 She talked soothingly.
Then she got a kleenex to "wipay nose"
 All clean!
I thought we were done. But we. were. not. And I was not allowed to think so. She demanded I continue to change diapers. But "foxy no diaper"...
Foxy needed his nose wiped instead.
And back to the endless diaper changes. Diaper on, diaper off.

This is the look she gives you if you try not to change diapers any more, as she forces it into your hand. I said, "it's Lucy's turn." "No, mama turn. Mama turn!"
She said "hi baby, hi baby"

Watching Machines

I was tired of reading books about how trucks work, so we decided to watch some trucks instead. Beloved Mighty Machines.

Charlie begs for more and more.

"I sit with Jamie!" Lucy declares. And gets all her friends before she's satisfied. Jamie watches with his own cars.
Owen doesn't care about the TV but does like to be with us.

Silly

Butterscotch likes to wrestle with the old-style computer paper.

 Lucy thinks it's funny.

Bedtime

Lucy is stuffed up and slightly feverish. When I put her to bed, she cried and said "I sad." So I offered to lay down with her. First, she had to get all her friends in her arms. When she only had a couple babies, she said "another one. Another one." until she had them all. Then she said, "Mom. Yoocy [Lucy] cuddle. Huggie." Finally she told me she wanted the door closed and it was time for me to go.

Then some friends came to investigate what we could be doing.

Jambo this Morning

Jamie wanted to go out for breakfast tacos. He offered to pay with the change his grandparents had given him. He said he would give them the money and they would give it back. When we told him they would keep it in exchange for the taco, he changed his mind. "You will give them the money for the tacos, and I will eat the tacos."

At snack, he declared, "I am not a biscuit."

Also, for your viewing pleasure, Jamie is berry sowwy
